For photography, the only way to meet your thoughts is by walking, and you have to set out in the morning and walk until the sun sets in the evening. For me, the site to explore was a part of the city of Osaka. I thought of myself as a city dweller, and the urban landscape was my primary subject. Frequently I went out to wander around in the “asphalt jungle.” Every time I covered a fairly long distance to capture the cityscape, which turned into my lifework.

In his free time, he wandered around the city and photographed the urban landscape. Several decades after they were taken, these photographs were rediscovered by Suzuki’s son and daughter-in-law and published in an extensive selection under the title East Beats, Osaka 1964–1970 by Spector Books, Leipzig, in 2023.
